In a celebration that blended timeless devotion with contemporary youth culture, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the ‘Bhajan Clubbing’ segment of the 10-day Vasantotsav 2026 at Ramjas College, Delhi University. The event, which commenced on Tuesday, was praised by Gupta as an inspiring platform uniting spirituality, heritage, and the vibrancy of students.
Leela Band’s soul-stirring performance set a devotional tone, captivating everyone from college students to high-profile guests including Gupta and Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra, who actively participated in the bhajans. Drawing from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ addresses, Gupta lauded initiatives like this that PM Modi has commended for linking youth to bhakti traditions, terming bhajans and kirtans the essence of India’s cultural soul.
This Delhi government endeavor through Vasantotsav represents a forward stride in cultural preservation, Gupta noted. She portrayed Bhajan Clubbing as an innovative bridge for the new generation to their ancestral legacy and inner spirituality. ‘Delhi is now a hub where bhakti meets youthful energy in a modern avatar, fostering profound spiritual encounters,’ the CM remarked.
Kapil Mishra reinforced that the 10-day series, running until February 19, is directly inspired by PM Modi’s encouragement of cultural engagement among the youth. Aiming to crown Delhi as the epicenter of arts and heritage alongside its political stature, the event lineup includes a musical showcase at Raghav Raja Deen Dayal Upadhyay College tomorrow, followed by performances on February 12 at ARSD College by India Music Collective and at Shaheed Sukhdev College by Sadho Band.
As these events unfold, they underscore a renewed commitment to nurturing India’s devotional traditions among the urban young, promising a series of immersive cultural experiences.
