Refund Timelines Cut to Ten Days, PHDCCCI Applauds Faster Processing

One of the headline outcomes of the GST Council’s 57th meeting was the acceleration of the refund process. The deadline for accepting refund claims has been trimmed to ten days, and the system will now auto‑approve ninety percent of claims after a risk assessment. Additionally, the payment period after a refund order is issued has been reduced to three working days.

PHDCCCI welcomed these steps, stating that quicker refunds will strengthen liquidity for manufacturers, exporters and other firms that depend on timely cash inflows. The chamber believes that this development, combined with broader input tax credit (ITC) extensions, will boost business confidence across the country.
