Recovery and Ongoing Treatment Among New Swine Flu Patients in Durg

The latest health bulletin from Durg district confirms that out of six swine flu patients, four have made a complete recovery. The remaining two cases are still under intensive care – one being managed at AIIMS Raipur and the other at the Sector‑9 Hospital.

Health workers say the influx of patients with fever, cough, sore throat and cold symptoms prompted the district medical office to issue a blanket alert for all hospitals. Isolation wards have been erected in the district hospital to ensure infected individuals are kept apart from other patients.

A recent report from Rajasthan highlighted 146 confirmed H1N1 infections since the start of 2026, reinforcing the urgency for rapid screening and treatment across neighboring regions.

Swine flu, caused by the H1N1 influenza virus, typically manifests with fever, cough, sore throat, nasal congestion, headache, body aches and fatigue. While most cases resolve with proper medical care, vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, pregnant women and those with underlying illnesses face a higher likelihood of complications.

Authorities continue to advise the public to use tissues or elbows when sneezing, clean hands frequently, stay away from densely populated areas when symptomatic, and wear masks. Immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is recommended for anyone experiencing flu‑like signs.
