Raut labels six Shiv Sena UBT MPs as traitors after merger approval

In a fiery statement on July 21, Sanjay Raut condemned the formal merger of six UBT MPs into Shiv Sena. While many political analysts saw the move as a unifying step, Raut dismissed the legislators as “not rebels but traitors.”

He reminded listeners of historic revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh and Sukdev, who fought for the nation’s freedom. In contrast, he argued, the six MPs have “sold their allegiance for money,” joining a political coalition that he calls “Mangal Milan.”

Raut asserted that genuine dissent would merit his respect, but the MPs’ actions betray the spirit of true struggle. He warned that such betrayals weaken the opposition’s capacity to challenge the ruling establishment.

The remark came alongside Raut’s broader critique of the Centre, which he accused of neglecting farmer protests, youth aspirations, and the education system, especially in light of the NEET paper leak scandal.
