Rathore Says Viral Clip Misrepresents His Remarks on India-Pakistan Cricket Rivalry

During a program marking Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s birth anniversary, Madan Rathore’s words were captured and spread online, prompting criticism from opposition parties. Rathore clarified that the excerpt was taken from a segment where participants, including members of the Muslim community, were debating the fervor surrounding cricket matches between the two nations. He clarified that he never advocated for any friendship with Pakistan; instead, he highlighted that those who celebrate India’s loss by lighting fireworks cannot be called true patriots. Rathore reiterated that the BJP’s stance on Pakistan remains firm, especially in light of recent border attacks and drug smuggling incidents.
