Ranjan Urges New MLA to Focus on Local Issues Over Grand Statements
Patna, August 3 (IANs) – JD(U) national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan addressed the press after Prashant Kishore’s win in Banakipur, urging the freshly elected legislator to prioritize the day‑to‑day concerns of residents rather than delivering elaborate speeches.
He congratulated Kishore while stressing that Banakipur’s citizens expect immediate results on infrastructure, healthcare, education and livelihood support. Ranjan emphasized that effective governance means solving problems that directly affect people’s quality of life.
According to him, the election did not trigger a radical overhaul of the assembly’s composition; instead, low voter participation signaled a degree of apathy that ultimately benefited the victor. He noted that the constituency’s electorate consists of relatively well‑off voters, making turnout a decisive factor.
Ranjan recalled that the region experienced notable progress during Nitish Kumar’s tenure, a development agenda that Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has continued. He added that both the JD(U) and its allies, as well as the BJP, will keep dissecting the result to understand voter sentiment.
Referencing Kishore’s own comment that no political party has an everlasting bastion, Ranjan concluded that sustainable political longevity requires learning from the NDA’s three‑decade rule in the area.
