On July 16, a five‑year‑old child was taken from her home in Saparm, Daldali, Ranchi. Within half a day, a specially formed raid unit under the supervision of the senior superintendent of police swept across Gaya, Bihar, conducting raids at over thirty sites. The operation culminated in the safe recovery of the girl from a hotel adjacent to Gaya junction. The kidnappers demanded three lakh rupees as ransom and threatened to kill the child if the sum was not paid. They also attempted to collect an extra ten thousand rupees through two separate online accounts. The police arrested three individuals – Ramesh Kumar Mishra, a resident of Diggi, Konch; Sachin Kumar of Khajuri; and Monu Kumar of Makhdampur, Jahaanabad – who were identified as the main perpetrators and accomplices. The child has been returned to her family, and the case is moving forward through the courts.
