Ranchi Protest Turns Aggressive as Leaders Face Ultimatum

The student movement in Ranchi, initially characterized by sit‑ins and peaceful vigils, took a sharper turn on Sunday. Demonstrators announced a dummy‑burning ceremony and warned that the Chief Minister’s house will be surrounded if the state does not act on their demands by August 18.

The rally’s agenda includes a call for an independent probe into the alleged paper‑leak scandal involving the JPSC and JSSSC exams, a demand for compensation for affected candidates, and stricter oversight of exam conduct.

Leadership spokesman Ravindra Kumar Paswan blamed the “irresponsible JMM” for the situation, stating that the government’s complacency has forced students to resort to more visible forms of protest.

The crowd also raised voices against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of merely echoing student concerns while his party remains in a power‑sharing arrangement with the state government.

Organisers stressed that the protest will persist until every point on their charter is satisfied, emphasizing that the movement is now a statewide call for accountability.
