Ranchi Mother's Protest Over Missing Child Ends in Detention
A distressing scene unfolded in Ranchi on Sunday when a woman, accompanied by her four children, reached the SSP residence in Morabadi and threatened self-immolation over the disappearance of her child.
According to the woman, one of her children went missing from Ranchi Sadar Hospital about a year ago. She says she has searched for the child for months and has approached the police and administration for help, yet no information has surfaced so far.
Her grief and frustration boiled over outside the SSP residence, where she expressed anger at the lack of action in the case. She then attempted to set herself on fire, leading security personnel and officials at the spot to intervene without delay.
The woman was detained by police, and her children were taken under police protection. She is reportedly from the Hehal Bajra area of Ranchi.
The in-charge of Lalpur police station has begun inquiries into her allegations and the missing child case. However, official details about the circumstances under which the child disappeared, and the measures taken to trace the child, are yet to be disclosed.
The case now depends on the follow-up investigation by the authorities, which will be crucial in determining the fate of the missing child and addressing the concerns raised by the mother.
