Ranaghat Police Probe Fatal Motorcycle Accident Involving Four Young Men
Authorities in West Bengal's Nadia district are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that killed four young men on July 30. The incident occurred in the Saheb Danga area of Ranaghat Police Station jurisdiction, as the riders were heading back after a funeral service for a senior resident of the locality.
According to police statements, all four passengers were on a single bike when the driver lost stability. The vehicle collided with the wall of an abandoned house, causing the structure to collapse. The falling debris crushed the occupants, resulting in immediate deaths for two and critical injuries for the other two, who later succumbed to their injuries at Ranaghat Sub‑Divisional Hospital.
The victims – identified as Soumen Halder, Pratap Pramanik, Ajit Biswas and Sabuj Biswas – were residents of Musunda, Ranaghat. Investigators are examining road conditions, vehicle maintenance and possible driver error. Political leaders, including the district BJP chief, visited the hospital to convey condolences and promised aid to the affected families.
