Ram Temple Milestone Celebrated as Symbol of Unity and Development
At the tenth Diwali gathering in Ayodhya, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan highlighted the inauguration of the grand Ram temple as a historic milestone that blends spiritual heritage with modern development.
He reflected on Lord Ram’s teachings, noting that true greatness is rooted in character and a relentless commitment to one’s responsibilities, not in titles or power.
The Vice President praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as contemporary "yogis" who embody Ram’s principles—Modi as a dedicated worker‑yogi and Yogi as a spiritual leader.
The ceremony at Ram Katha Park showcased a symbolic arrival of Ram, Sita and Lakshman in a flower‑adorned aircraft, an emotional Bharat‑Milan, and a ceremonial coronation of Ram that drew thousands of onlookers.
Radhakrishnan recounted his mother’s involvement in the early Ram‑shila puja, where she once carried a brick on her head, expressing pride that her son now serves as Vice President and participates in this momentous event.
He emphasized that after five centuries of struggle, the Ram temple stands as a testament to the perseverance of devotees and the power of collective faith.
The Vice President lauded the dramatic improvement in law and order in Uttar Pradesh under Chief Minister Yogi’s administration, stating that the state now offers safety to every citizen, a sharp contrast to earlier days of insecurity.
He also underscored Uttar Pradesh’s economic contribution of about 9% to the national GDP, a record‑breaking 2026‑27 budget of over 9 lakh crore rupees, and the state’s trajectory toward a $1‑trillion economy, citing the orderly Prayagraj Kumbh as evidence of the region’s development.
Radhakrishnan concluded that India’s goal is not to dominate but to progress together, turning the nation into a global powerhouse with the help of leaders who follow Ram’s timeless values.
