Ram Temple Controversy: VHP Urges Transparent Investigation of All Claims
In a press interaction on July 3, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Alok Kumar reiterated that every accusation related to the ongoing Ram Temple construction should be subject to a thorough and open inquiry. He highlighted that the trust managing the site has called for a comprehensive review and VHP will respect the outcome of any official investigation.
Kumar said he had no details regarding the FIR reportedly targeting senior officials of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and therefore could not comment further. He also clarified that internal decisions about temple appointments are independent of VHP.
When questioned about comments made by Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, Kumar warned that linking the temple project to political mileage could provoke questions about alleged violent episodes. He noted that Yadav never visited Ayodhya while serving as chief minister and that the city remained largely under‑developed during his administration.
Addressing AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal’s remarks that subtly target Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kumar insisted that any direct accusation must be substantiated with evidence and examined by law enforcement. Unverified claims, he added, should invite appropriate legal action.
