Ram Kadam Links Diwali Celebrations with Political Narratives on Ayodhya

During a Diwali gathering in Mumbai, BJP MLA Ram Kadam intertwined religious observance with a stark political message. He described Diwali as a time of joy, rituals and the lighting of lamps that welcomed Lord Ram’s arrival in Ayodhya, while also marking Narak Chaturthi, the day Lord Krishna defeated the demon Narakasura.

Kadams praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s festive greetings and highlighted India’s rise to the fourth‑largest economy, projecting an ambition to become the third‑largest by the following Diwali.

He honored senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani on his centennial birthday, noting Advani’s unwavering commitment to the nation and the party’s growth into a global political force.

Turning his attention to the opposition, Kadam questioned Sonia Gandhi’s legacy from the 1975 Emergency, asking whether she can cleanse her reputation after overseeing the incarceration of more than one hundred thousand dissenters, including Morarji Desai, Jayaprakash Narayan, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Advani himself.

The legislator accused the Congress of repeatedly opposing the Ram temple project in Ayodhya, labeling its stance as hypocritical and suggesting the party revives Hindu sentiment only when elections draw near.

Kadams also rebuked Akhilesh Yadav’s intended Ayodhya tour, invoking the Samajwadi Party’s alleged past violence against Ram bhakts and the alleged burial of bodies in the Sarayu river, arguing that such a history disqualifies the party from any moral claim over the sacred ground.

Concluding his address, Kadam called for unity, development and respect for India’s spiritual heritage, warning that political expediency should never jeopardize the nation’s cultural fabric.
