Rally Accusations: Sanjay Nirupam Claims Opposition Uses Streets for Agitation
Shiv Sena’s official mouthpiece, Sanjay Nirupam, on October 17 denounced the CJ Party’s upcoming Tiranga rally as a calculated move to ignite unrest. He reminded the audience that CJ Party founder Abhijit Dipke had assured the court he would not engage in any activity that could disturb public order for a year.
Nirupam also criticised Rahul Gandhi for repeatedly levelling baseless accusations against constitutional institutions, suggesting that such rhetoric fuels street protests. He described the Connaught Place flag‑raising appeal as a thinly‑veiled attempt to create violence, a claim that led Delhi police to take preventive action.
Senior Shiv Sena figures Raju Vaghmare and Manisha Kayande warned that the opposition’s habit of taking to the streets over every issue threatens democratic decorum and distracts from real policy debates.
