Raksha Bandhan Ceremony Unites Female Politicians and CM Naidu in Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati – On Friday, the traditional Raksha Bandhan ceremony turned into a political gathering as a number of women leaders from different parties tied rakhi to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The participants included BC Kalyana, Handlooms and Textiles Minister S. Savitha, former minister Pithala Sujata, TDP district TD‑P president Gadde Anuradha and state secretariat officer Achanta Sunita. Their collective gesture highlighted the cultural importance of the festival amid a bustling political climate.

Later, the same day, Minister Savitha, together with Galla Madhavi, the MLA from Guntur West, visited the residence of Nara Lokesh in Undavalli. They presented rakhi to the HRD, IT and Real‑Time Governance minister, thanking him for his dedication to gender‑inclusive development.

Lokesh, who had earlier posted a festive greeting, remarked that even without a biological sister, divine providence has bestowed him with millions of sisters across the Telugu states. He pledged continued focus on children's moral education, women's safety and empowerment as core government responsibilities.

Y.S. Sharma Reddy, the state head of the Congress, also used the day to convey heartfelt wishes, describing Raksha Bandhan as a manifestation of brother‑sister love, protection and societal harmony.
