Azamgarh: Reacting to the viral video showing bhajan-kirtan inside the Taj Mahal, state minister Om Prakash Rajbhar told IANS that people of every faith have always visited the monument and performed prayers in their own way. He said a Hindu offers puja in Hindi while a Muslim offers namaz in Urdu, and both should be allowed to continue. On the question of security lapses, Rajbhar said the Archaeological Survey of India is already monitoring the site and any illegal activity will be probed. He warned that those found responsible would be punished. Taking a sharp dig at Akhilesh Yadav, Rajbhar said the SP leader had taken a "contract to tell lies." He cited the alleged attack on Gayatri Prajapati’s wife by SP workers and asked how the party could expect votes from her husband. Rajbhar further claimed that both Yadavs and Muslims had now raised the BJP flag, ending the MY equation. Regarding Delhi University exams, the minister said tests cannot be postponed for any religion and students should focus on their studies. He condemned reported misbehavior with girl students and supported the government’s stand against public prayers or sacrifices that obstruct traffic, in line with High Court orders.
