Political Analyst Rajbhar Questions Owaisi Remarks and DMK Stance on Citizenship Bill
In the same interview, Ramashankar Rajbhar took issue with recent comments made by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, describing the remarks as being driven by caste and religion considerations. Rajbhar challenged Owaisi’s authority to decide who will "lay a carpet" for the new government, asking, "If not Abdul Kalam, then whose carpet have we been laying for?"
The MP further expressed skepticism about the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s (DMK) reported support for the central government's Citizenship Amendment Bill. He recalled DMK’s staunch opposition to the legislation during its previous passage and warned that any sudden shift could be a political misstep. Rajbhar warned that if the bill is introduced, it would invite fierce criticism and could harm the interests of citizens, especially in South India.
He also criticized the government's parliamentary performance, noting that despite nineteen days of session, not a single hour of substantive work has been completed.
