Rajbhar Accuses Akhilesh of Shying Away From UP Elections

Speculation surrounding Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s potential withdrawal from the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly polls has drawn sharp criticism from cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar. The Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party president has openly questioned the opposition’s electoral strategy and leadership resolve.

Rajbhar’s comments on X directly addressed rumors that Yadav might not field himself in any constituency. Framing it as an act of political evasion, the minister stated that a genuine leader never abandons the electoral battlefield. He even proposed a dual-seater challenge, inviting Yadav to contest alongside him.

Reflecting on past political transitions, Rajbhar pointed out that Yadav’s previous tenure as chief minister was facilitated by party lineage rather than voter preference or supernatural influence. The minister mocked the contemporary tendency among some political circles to attribute electoral fortunes to rituals and fortune-telling.

Emphasizing the evolution of Uttar Pradesh’s political culture, Rajbhar noted that the state’s electorate decisively rejected the previous administration’s reliance on esoteric practices over a decade ago. He stressed that the current political climate favors substantive governance and rational decision-making over mysticism.

Questioning the opposition’s sudden caution, Rajbhar wondered why a seasoned former chief minister would now contemplate withdrawing from the race to prevent potential political losses. He characterized the proposed absence as a retreat born out of electoral uncertainty.

Concluding his observations, Rajbhar highlighted the irony of political figures seeking divine interventions at shrines across Noida, Agra, Ayodhya, and Mathura while avoiding direct democratic engagement. He reiterated that true political healing comes from contesting elections with transparency and courage, rather than retreating behind symbolic rituals.
