New school food safety committees to be formed across Rajasthan after court ruling

Following the court's directive, every school in the state is required to set up a School Food Safety and Nutrition Committee within four weeks. The committee will oversee the implementation of the 2020 guidelines that prescribe balanced meals for students. It will also verify that the Mid‑Day Meal scheme and other nutrition programs meet the stipulated dietary standards, aiming to curb childhood obesity and lifestyle‑related illnesses. District collectors have been instructed to conduct surprise inspections of rural schools and submit compliance reports to the court within eight weeks.
