Rain Forces Helicopter Cancellation, CM Vijay Returns to Chennai

A sudden downpour in the evenings of October 16 halted the travel plans of Tamil Nadu's chief minister C. Joseph Vijay. The rain made the helipad unsuitable, prompting officials to cancel the scheduled helicopter flight from Coimbatore to Trichur. Vijay instead boarded a chartered plane back to Chennai, ending his brief trip to Kerala. The event, organized by the Kalyan Group for a Navaratri celebration at the home of its chairman, was the first Kerala appearance since Vijay assumed office. The cancellation has left supporters waiting for an updated schedule.
