During a spell of heavy rainfall, an aging house in Kotwali’s Mahuli lane crumbled, trapping an entire family inside. The structure, believed to be close to a hundred years old, was already weakened, and the added weight of rainwater caused the roof to give way. All six occupants – the patriarch, his spouse, their adult son, daughter‑in‑law, and two infant grandsons – perished on the spot. A teenage survivor recounted that he awoke to find himself buried, managed to free himself, and shouted for help, prompting neighbors and officials to gather at the scene.
