Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi Allegedly Pressuring Supreme Court Over FIR Issues, Says BJP

BJP representatives Jagadambika Pal and Ramachandra Rao on October 13 alleged that Rahul Gandhi is attempting to coerce the Supreme Court into intervening in the FIR (Form‑6) controversy. They said Gandhi’s move to approach the apex court is a political stunt designed to undermine the independence of the judiciary.

The party’s spokesperson highlighted that the Supreme Court has already clarified its stance on the FIR process and issued specific guidelines to the Election Commission, which have been duly followed. They noted that the changes to Form‑6 were introduced only after the court’s direction in the Bihar case, reinforcing that the procedural framework is already in place.

Pal warned that Gandhi’s lack of understanding of constitutional conventions and parliamentary traditions is evident in his attempt to politicise the court. She added that the Congress’s strategy is to mislead the electorate while simultaneously eroding the credibility of both the Election Commission and the Supreme Court.
