Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi Demands Prompt Probe into Manipur Musician Killing

During a Lok Sabha session, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi called for an accelerated investigation into the death of Manipur’s musician Chongtham Vikram Singh. He urged the government to ensure swift justice and avoid any delay in filing charges.

Minister Kirit Rujaru responded by stating that investigations are already underway and that the eight accused will face a rigorous legal process. He stressed that the focus should remain on the crime, not on the regional origins of those involved.

Both parties agreed that the incident, which resulted from a night‑time altercation involving delivery staff and dhaba employees, must be treated with utmost seriousness.
