Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister OP Rajbhar unleashed a blistering attack on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, claiming the Congress scion habitually shames India on global stages. The remarks, delivered during an interaction in Azamgarh, align with BJP firebrand Anurag Thakur’s recent ‘desh drohi’ jibe in Lok Sabha, triggered by Youth Congress’ bare-chested disruption at the AI Summit in Delhi.
‘It’s Anurag Thakur’s view, but undeniably, Rahul Gandhi drags India into disrepute every time he opens his mouth or jets off overseas,’ Rajbhar told IANS. He lambasted Gandhi’s persistent attacks on the Election Commission, noting the irony: ‘He’s an MP thanks to the EC. If he thinks their decisions are tainted, quit now and re-enter the fray.’
Rajbhar commended SP MP Awadhesh Prasad’s sensible critique of the Youth Congress protest, deeming the nudity and destruction at a prestigious international gathering utterly condemnable. Shifting focus to national security, he slammed Congress MP Imran Masood for alleging terror probes target innocents in the LeT Bangladesh module arrests. ‘Masood is lying to shield vote banks. Raids uncovered counterfeit note printing in madrasas—won’t we investigate that?’ Rajbhar challenged, questioning Masood’s own liberty if his narrative held water.
Painting Congress as truth-evaders driven by cynical politics, Rajbhar called for accountability. The exchange highlights escalating verbal duels in UP, where alliances harden and accusations fly freely, setting the tone for future confrontations.
