Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a scathing new attack against the ruling BJP, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ascent to power was achieved through ‘chunav chori,’ or election theft. Gandhi claims that the BJP systematically manipulates electoral processes to secure victories. He stated that his party possesses substantial evidence and will continue to present it to the public, particularly the youth, to expose what he terms as ‘election theft’ by the BJP and Modi. Gandhi specifically pointed to the Haryana elections as a prime example, describing them as a ‘wholesale chori’ rather than legitimate polls. He highlighted allegations of fake votes and photographs, noting the Election Commission’s alleged failure to address these serious concerns. The Congress leader criticized the media for focusing on minor incidents, such as a foreign national voting, while overlooking the broader alleged irregularities he has raised. He accused the Election Commission, alongside Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, of undermining the Indian Constitution by manipulating election results and violating the ‘one man, one vote’ principle. Gandhi warned that similar tactics would be employed in the upcoming Bihar elections, following alleged occurrences in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, and Gujarat.
