Radhanpur Road Tragedy: Mother and Son Killed in Patan Crash

Patan, October 23: A devastating road accident on the Radhanpur-Sami highway in Gujarat's Patan district has claimed the lives of a mother and her son, while four others, including two minors, were hurt.

The victims have been identified as Ranjit Mangilal and his mother Jamnaben. Police said the two died instantly after their car struck a truck coming from the opposite direction.

The family was en route from Dwarka to Bhabhar, located in the neighbouring Banaskantha district, when the collision took place. The remaining occupants of the car suffered injuries and were shifted to a hospital.

Officials have not yet shared specific details about the condition of the injured. They said a First Information Report is being registered and that the investigation will reveal more about how the crash occurred.

This incident is the latest in a string of road accidents reported around Radhanpur in recent months.

In an earlier incident on September 6, an Eeco carrying a group back from the Khatu Shyam pilgrimage in Rajasthan rammed into a truck that was parked on the Radhanpur-Varahi highway. Three people lost their lives and four others were injured near Raghavji Hotel.

The previous crash involved a stationary truck, while the latest collision involved a truck moving from the opposite direction. The reasons behind the head-on collision have not been established, and police are continuing their inquiry.

The names of the four injured persons and the hospital where they were admitted have not been made public yet.
