Quick Investigation Leads to Arrest of 24‑Year‑Old Man in Delhi Wife Murder Case

Delhi’s Anand Parvat police demonstrated rapid response capabilities after a woman was found dead inside her home on September 14. The victim, aged 32, lived with her husband, two children and her mother in the Punjabi Basti locality. First responders noted a faint bruise resembling a fingernail mark on the left side of her neck, while the rest of her body showed no external trauma.

The child’s account was crucial: at around 4 a.m., the daughter woke up to see her father standing by her mother’s side. The father soon left the house, and the mother failed to answer subsequent calls. This narrative, coupled with forensic insights, guided investigators to suspect the husband’s involvement.

An FIR was filed under Section 103(1) of the B.N.S. Act, and specialized teams from the Crime and Forensic Science Laboratories examined the scene, securing evidence and high‑resolution images. A fast‑track pursuit team was assembled, using technical data from mobile devices and surveillance feeds to locate the suspect, Chandrapal Bhati, who had travelled to Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.

Within 16 hours, police apprehended Bhati and transported him back to Delhi. During questioning, he reportedly admitted to strangling his wife after a series of heated arguments. The investigation continues as authorities gather additional proof to support the prosecution.
