Questions raised on SIT’s limited scope in Ram Temple scandal, says Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal, AAP’s national convenor, expressed serious reservations about the Special Investigation Team’s (SIT) mandate concerning the Ram Temple controversy. Speaking with Delhi chief Saurabh Bharadwaj, Kejriwal claimed that the SIT is confined to probing only the alleged theft of temple offerings, leaving larger financial and land‑deal accusations untouched.

According to the leaders, the Ram Temple trust was established with the prime minister’s blessing, and its membership list was approved by his office. This, they argue, makes the prime minister responsible for the trust’s governance and any irregularities that surface.

The party highlighted past instances where the trust allegedly purchased land at inflated rates, such as a two‑crore‑rupee plot subsequently sold for eighteen crore rupees. They also cited complaints from engineers who said a 40% commission was demanded in tender processes and pointed to missing CCTV footage that supposedly recorded thefts of offerings.

Kejriwal recounted that AAP MP Sanjay Singh, upon presenting documents to the SIT, was told the investigation would not consider land‑related issues. The AAP leader labeled this as a deliberate attempt to curb the probe’s impartiality.

He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address these concerns publicly and called for a comprehensive, unbiased investigation that covers all facets of the alleged misconduct.
