Punjab’s drug enforcement wing reported a sweeping seizure and destruction of narcotics in Ludhiana. The police acted on 50 fresh NDPS cases, destroying 11 kilograms of heroin, 212 kilograms of opium husk, 91 kilograms of cannabis, and approximately 200,000 drug tablets. The department noted that, to date, 532 NDPS disposal cases have been completed since the beginning of 2026, reflecting a sustained push against drug trafficking. Authorities highlighted the need for continuous action to break supply lines and prosecute smugglers aggressively.
