Punjab’s battle against gangsters scored another victory as the Anti-Gangster Task Force, in collaboration with Bathinda police, arrested two men carrying illicit firearms. The operation thwarted a potential robbery targeting a prominent trader in the city.
The suspects, Jackie Kumar (aka Jackie) and Vikas Arora, were caught red-handed with two .32 bore desi pistols, magazines, and four rounds of ammunition. Sources indicate the guns originated from Delhi, leading to an ongoing probe into interstate arms trafficking.
Vikas Arora’s criminal history includes previous domestic violence charges, highlighting patterns of escalating criminal behavior. Authorities are now tracing connections to larger syndicates.
Just days earlier, AGTF joined forces with Haryana STF’s Karnal unit to capture Rajan alias Piyush Pahalwan and Preetam Shah, close aides of wanted gangster Lucky Patiala affiliated with the Bambiha gang. The pair faces accusations in the high-profile assassination of Charanpreet Singh (Chinni) in Chandigarh on March 18, a case that ignited widespread fear.
As Punjab intensifies its anti-crime drive, police emphasize continuous operations to eradicate gangster elements. This series of successes underscores a strategic shift towards proactive policing, fostering a safer environment for residents and businesses alike.
