Public Rallies Behind PM Modi's Conservation Drive: BJP

In a show of unity, Karnataka BJP leaders have thrown their weight behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi's urgent plea for fuel conservation and prudent spending on gold, as global tensions strain resources. Leader of Opposition R Ashok declared that citizens are heeding the call to curb petroleum use and related measures with enthusiasm. At a press briefing in Bengaluru's BJP headquarters, Ashok shared how his household is actively participating. 'Vehicle fuel usage is down 30-50%, and security convoys are reserved for emergencies only,' he said, underscoring the practical steps being taken. The leader pointed to worldwide hardships from international conflicts, noting widespread acceptance of Modi's guidance. Family directives to reduce cooking oil have been issued, reflecting a multi-level response. Even Union ministers are switching to metros and buses, amplifying the message. N Ravikumar, BJP's opposition chief whip in the legislative council, called on CM Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar to end their resistance to these patriotic recommendations. Ravikumar praised corporate shifts towards hybrid work models, enabling fuel savings. He slammed Congress MLC BK Hariprasad's comments as immature, advising against wasting time on them. Detailing the appeal, Ravikumar reiterated cuts in fuel, LPG, gold purchases, and a push for public transit. With wars halting supplies despite talks, these steps are vital, he stressed. Blasting Congress's predictable criticism, he said the initiative safeguards national interests like economic stability and reserves. 'Governments and people alike are responding positively—join in,' he urged. Ravikumar also flagged the targeting of BJP activist Nagraj Naik in Akola, seeking action against assailants and security for his ongoing protest.
