Public‑private partnership signed to set up bio‑fertilizer units in Bhavnagar

On 9 October, GSBTM and Anand Agricultural University (AAU) formalised a memorandum of understanding in Bhavnagar to create bio‑manufacturing facilities for organic fertilizers and biopesticides.

The signing ceremony was attended by Science and Technology Minister Arjunbhai Modhwadia and Agriculture, Farmer Welfare, Cooperation and Animal Husbandry Minister Jitubhai Vaghani. The agreement outlines joint research, strain development, pilot production and field trials, linking academic expertise with industry capabilities.

The partnership aims to translate laboratory discoveries—such as phosphate‑solubilising bacteria and potassium‑mobilising microbes—into commercial products that can be distributed to Gujarat’s farming community.
