Protesters Celebrate Government’s Decision to Void JSSC‑CGL Recruitment Test

Ranchi, Aug 17 – The Jharkhand state cabinet’s announcement to nullify the JSSC‑CGL recruitment examination sparked immediate jubilation among the student demonstrators gathered at Jaypal Singh Mundra Stadium. After a relentless 24‑day campaign, the authorities finally accepted the primary demand of the movement.

Celebrations took the form of chanting slogans, hugging one another and handing out sweets. The once‑somber protest site, marked by long‑standing encampments and hunger strikes, transformed into a festive arena. Participants hailed the cancellation as a hard‑won triumph.

According to the protest leaders, the struggle is aimed at ensuring that future recruitment processes are free from bias and irregularities. They urged the government to conduct a transparent audit of past exams and to prosecute any officials found guilty of tampering.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren revealed that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and the Crime Investigation Department (CID) uncovered unsettling evidence of coordinated misconduct. He pledged a sweeping review of JPSC and JSSC examinations since 2014 and announced the creation of a reform committee under IAS officer Amitabh Kaushal to suggest necessary changes.

With the stadium still brimming with enthusiasm by nightfall, the students voiced gratitude for the decision and called for prompt action on the remaining grievances laid out in their charter.
