Protest Politics Hurting Hindu Festivals and Economy: Bansal
New Delhi, October 27: The VHP’s national spokesperson Vinod Bansal has accused INDI bloc leaders of harming Hindu festivals and the economy through protest politics. His remarks came ahead of the opposition rally planned for November 1 at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi.
Bansal, in a post on X, said the alliance had turned down a request from traders to postpone the rally. He argued that the response would have been very different had the request come from jihadi groups. “They would have bowed down, apologised and cancelled the rally,” he said. He also noted that the rally falls on the same day as Ahoi Ashtami, a major festival in which mothers observe a fast for the happiness and long life of their children.
He went on to warn traders that the so-called triple C gang, consisting of Congress, communists and communalist jihadis, was spreading its net to damage trade, Hindu faith, festive happiness and the country’s economy.
According to Bansal, the pattern is visible in recent months. Plots were first aimed at Navratri and Dussehra, and now they were being directed at Diwali, the nation’s largest festival. He urged the public, especially Hindus, to stay watchful of people and organisations that he said were following an anti-Hindu agenda.
Bansal also addressed opposition leaders directly, saying that Hindu society would respond to their schemes at the right time and would never allow their anti-India and anti-Hindu conspiracies to succeed.
In a separate development, Brijesh Goyal, chairman of the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI), one of the top organisations of traders and entrepreneurs in Delhi, has written to Congress president Rahul Gandhi. He has asked for the proposed mega rally of 10 lakh people at Ramlila Maidan on November 1 to be shifted to after Diwali.
