Project Cheetah: Madhya Pradesh aims to restore Asian predator

Project Cheetah, described by the chief minister as a historic initiative, seeks to re‑establish a species that once vanished from Asia and from Madhya Pradesh itself. With 56 cheetahs, including cubs, currently recorded in the state, the program aspires to revive the species’ life cycle after a century‑long gap. The chief minister lauded the forest department’s achievement, noting the state’s rich legacy in wildlife protection and the dedication of its officers and staff.
