Private Investment in Indian Space Sector Grows Sixfold, New Data Shows

Investment by private players in India's space industry has surged, reaching $618.5 million by the end of FY 2025‑26, a six‑fold increase from $100.5 million in FY 2021‑22. By mid‑2026, 52 non‑government entities have received authorizations, including 18 startups cleared for satellite operations, payload integration, and launch services. The influx of capital is a direct result of the 2020 decision to open the space sector to private participation and subsequent policy support.
