Missing MSG Warning Prompts Additional Notice for Jaipur Hotel

A focused inspection carried out by Rajasthan’s Food Safety Department uncovered several breaches at a private hotel in Jaipur’s Bani Park area.

While the team collected paneer and bati samples for laboratory verification, they also identified six expired bread packs, two kilogram‑size jars of peanut butter, and six tins of sweet corn that were past their use‑by dates. All such items were promptly destroyed on site.

The investigation further highlighted that the hotel’s Chinese food menu did not carry the mandatory warning about monosodium glutamate (MSG), a requirement under food safety regulations. As a result, the department will issue a separate improvement notice addressing this omission along with other minor infractions observed during the raid.

The Food Safety Department reaffirmed its commitment to uphold stringent quality and safety standards across Rajasthan, promising continued inspections and strict enforcement under the "Shuddh Aahar – Milawat Par War" initiative.
