Prime Minister’s ‘Local to Global’ Drive Boosts Handloom Sector, Naveen States
On the occasion of National Handloom Day, BJP national general secretary Nitin Naveen posted a congratulatory video on X. He highlighted that Indian weavers have earned a distinct identity worldwide, thanks to their relentless effort and craftsmanship. The spokesperson cited examples such as Pat silk from Assam, Bhagalpur’s famous textiles, and the Kosa fabrics of Chhattisgarh, emphasizing the nationwide commitment to preserving heritage.
The leader praised the “Vocal for Local” and subsequent “Local to Global” policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying they have provided essential encouragement and safeguards for the weaving community. Naveen expressed personal pride in witnessing a renewed vigor among artisans, noting that this momentum is essential for India’s self‑reliance goals.
He concluded by assuring that the government will continue to promote and protect the interests of handloom workers, driving further milestones in the sector’s development.
