Prime Minister Celebrates Diwali with Soldiers, Keeps Naval Tradition

New Delhi, November 8 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the start of Diwali on Sunday by sending a warm greeting through his X account, wishing every Indian a joyous and luminous festival. The post was followed by a short video released on the eve of Diwali, where he highlighted the festival’s role in uniting the country under the glow of hope.

The prime minister noted that the festival’s lights represent a collective pledge to vanquish darkness and that the season should bring prosperity, tranquility and shared happiness to each home across the nation.

Modi also reiterated his personal excitement for the holiday, confirming that, consistent with past years, he will celebrate alongside the nation’s brave soldiers. Though he omitted details about the exact venue for this year's gathering, he reminded audiences of last year’s celebration on the Indian Navy’s aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, docked near Goa.
