Power house at risk: Floodwaters could cut electricity supply in Mohania

The Sub‑Divisional Magistrate, Ratna Priyadarshini, warned that the power house situated in the low‑lying area of Mohania is vulnerable to inundation. If floodwater reaches the station, electricity supply to the entire town could be disrupted for three to four days or longer.

The Flood Control Unit has begun implementing protective actions, including sandbag placement and temporary barriers, to keep water away from the substation. Rapid drainage and pump operations are also being readied to divert excess flow away from critical infrastructure.

Preventing a prolonged power outage remains a top priority for the administration, given the dependence of residents and local businesses on a stable electricity supply.
