OPPOSITION'S AI GAMES FACE BOLD BACKLASH FROM BJP

On September 1 in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party used a press conference to showcase an AI‑crafted video that depicted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath drinking a traditional beverage. The move sparked immediate outrage among BJP leaders.

The party labeled the unlimited AI manipulation of a serving chief minister’s image as “abhorrent,” arguing that such digital fabrications demean the highest constitutional office.

BJP MP Jagdambika Pal stressed that while political opposition is a democratic right, it must not involve disrespecting individuals who also hold spiritual authority. She warned that the electorate will judge Yadav’s tactics in the forthcoming 2027 elections.

Praveen Khandelwal, another BJP parliamentarian, reminded citizens that the opposition has a history of electoral defeats and that resorting to sensational AI content reflects a lack of substantive political agenda.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak condemned the Samajwadi Party for losing its moral compass, noting that the party’s deeds no longer align with its rhetoric and that the people will not overlook this mismatch.

Cabinet minister Sanjay Nishad added that creating a limitless AI representation of the chief minister is particularly offensive in a state considered sacred to Lord Rama, calling for greater respect toward cultural symbols.

The incident is likely to influence public opinion as the 2027 Uttar Pradesh polls draw nearer, with the BJP leveraging the controversy to reinforce its claim as the protector of tradition and propriety.
