Political Fallout Over NEET Leak: Gandhi Calls for PM Modi’s Apology

Rahul Gandhi, a prominent opposition figure, arrived in Mahabalipuram on Saturday to extend condolences to families mourning their children who died after the NEET paper leak. He shared images on X, describing the parents' tears as a grief that will remain with them forever and stressing that the episode exposes the shortcomings of the nation's education policy.

The congress leader condemned the leak, the abrupt cancellation of the exam, and the loss of years of preparation for aspirants. He labeled the system as "dishonest" and argued that it is unreasonable to ask students to put in sincere effort while the structure itself is compromised.

Gandhi also took issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s suggestion that the government would "forgive" the students implicated in the scandal. He asserted that the families of the victims deserve an apology from the prime minister, not the other way around. "Our students do not ask for your forgiveness; they demand your accountability," Gandhi said, adding that the government’s handling of the crisis remains unsatisfactory.

His remarks have reignited debates over educational reforms and the political responsibility of the central government in safeguarding students’ futures.
