Political Tensions Rise as Gun Threat Targeted at BJP Ally’s Office

The Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party’s national secretary, Arvind Rajbhar, described a frightening encounter on August 13 in which a man entered his Lucknow office, engaged in a heated argument with the office manager and then displayed a pistol. The attacker reportedly warned that statements against Akhilesh Yadav or the Samajwadi Party would be met with severe retaliation. After a brief scuffle, the weapon fell to the floor and the assailant fled, continuing to shout threats. Rajbhar emphasized that the incident could be part of a larger scheme to pressure opposition voices, especially after Shivpal Yadav’s recent comments on “special treatment” for party leaders. He called for an immediate police inquiry and demanded that the SP leadership publicly denounce such intimidation tactics.
