Political rally clash risk prompts Jharkhand authorities to tighten security
Dhanbad, July 15 – The Jharkhand district administration has placed the region on high alert after learning of two scheduled political gatherings. MP Dhul Mahto and MLA Arunp Chatterjee intend to hold separate rallies on the same day, raising concerns over possible law‑and‑order challenges.
Deputy Commissioner Aditya Ranjan told the press that the Sub‑Divisional Officer (SDO) has been instructed to vet all event requests. Approvals for sound‑amplification devices and crowd attendance must be secured in advance. Both leaders have submitted their applications, and the sub‑divisional officer will decide if adjustments to time or location are necessary.
Ranjan emphasized that personal negotiations with the sub‑divisional officer will be pursued to avert any confrontation. He assured that the district administration, together with police, is fully prepared to respond to any disturbance, promising firm action if needed.
Residents are urged to remain calm and avoid any attempts to enforce law themselves. The authorities warned that any violation will be met with immediate legal consequences.
The events include MP Dhul Mahato’s address to a public gathering in Nirsa and MLA Arunp Chatterjee’s announced power demonstration with his supporters, intensifying political tension in the zone.
