Political Pressure Alleged in Dehri EO Death, Demands Protection for Victim’s Family

In Patna on August 4, Tejaswi Yadav, RJD’s national executive chief, alleged that the ruling coalition is interfering in the probe of the Dehri executive officer’s murder. He said the police have repeatedly altered the driver’s statements and ignored the family’s claim that multiple people participated in a premeditated plot.

Yadav asserted that the administration’s narrative – that the killing stemmed from work‑related stress and denied leave – is unconvincing. He pointed out that the accused driver’s wife has also lodged complaints of intimidation by the police.

The opposition leader urged the authorities to explore every possible lead and warned that political protection for any suspect would erode public confidence in the justice system. He emphasized that honest officers are operating in a climate of fear, which could weaken the entire governance structure if the perpetrators are not held accountable.

Concluding his remarks, Yadav demanded that the victim’s family receive security cover, a dignified government posting for the widow, and stringent legal action against those responsible for the crime.
