Political Parties Accused of Exploiting Students as Pawns, Says Bihar Minister

During a press briefing in Patna on August 26, Minister Ramkripal Yadav castigated certain political parties for turning students into pawns in their own power games.

He said that while the government is taking the students' grievances seriously and plans to consider their legitimate demands, some opposition leaders—whom he labeled as “unemployed”—are trying to place a gun on the shoulders of the youth. Their objective, according to Yadav, is to provoke chaos, hoping that the resulting lathi charges and unrest will push closed shops back into operation.

“The government is ready to work with every section of society – from women and youths to farmers, labourers and shopkeepers – to create jobs and foster development,” Yadav declared, adding that the state’s policies for women’s upliftment begun by former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and supported by the Prime Minister are being continued by the current Chief Minister.

He warned students to steer clear of parties whose businesses have stalled, urging them to rely on the state and central governments, which are prepared to address their concerns without political interference.

Yadav also referenced the recent Raksha Bandhan announcements that aim to boost women’s economic participation, reinforcing the administration’s broader focus on inclusive growth.
