Political Leaders Convene on Site to Assess Delhi Disaster Relief Efforts

Following the sudden fall of a multi‑storey edifice in Delhi's Satyaketan area, top political figures gathered at the disaster site on September 6 to evaluate the ongoing relief and rescue operations. Home Minister Amit Shah, senior BJP leader Nitin Navin and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Sindhi each posted messages of condolence, confirming that they have been in direct contact with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the city's police commissioner and the NDRF chief. Shah emphasised that the joint effort between the municipal administration and the National Disaster Response Force is being conducted with "war‑like" urgency, guaranteeing that all victims receive comprehensive medical support. Navin stressed the grave seriousness of the incident and assured that rescue teams are leaving no stone unturned to secure the safety of those affected. Minister Sindhi reiterated the commitment to extract anyone trapped under the wreckage and to offer immediate medical care. The chief minister, after touring the location, received exhaustive briefings from on‑site officials about the scale of the collapse and the status of the rescue campaign. Police data revealed that the collapsed building, roughly 40‑50 years old, housed a basement and five upper stories and operated as a paying‑guest facility, with repair work underway in the basement at the time of failure.
