Political heat rises as Yogi compares SP to Babur, opposition questions BJP’s heritage

Lucknow, September 22 – The controversy surrounding Yogi Adityanath’s remark that the Samajwadi Party finds the invocation of Lord Ram as disturbing as the Mughal emperor Babur did has intensified. NDA allies, including minister Om Prakash Rajbhar and Bihar BJP chief Sanjay Saravgi, defended the comment, accusing the SP of exploiting religious symbols for votes. Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Asim Vikar turned the tables, alleging that the BJP harbours Babur’s lineage, citing a deputy chief minister in Rajasthan as a possible descendant. Vikar urged Yogi to seek accurate information from his own party sources before making such claims.
