Political Leaders Demand Action Against Accused in Temple Donation Scandal

In a press conference held in Lucknow, Congress leader Ajay Rai demanded immediate legal action against those implicated in the alleged diversion of donations at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. While the trust announced former Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra as its first CEO, Rai stressed that the appointment alone does not resolve the controversy.

"Until the people who siphoned off the deity's money are prosecuted, this administrative reshuffle is meaningless," Rai said. He listed names such as Champat Rai, Anil Mishra, Gopal Rao and other trustees who have been linked to the "chadhava" case.

Rai called for a transparent inquiry, insisting that the new CEO should cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies. He also urged the trust to consider the counsel of senior religious figures, stating that spiritual oversight is essential for a sanctuary as revered as the Ram temple.

The congress leader concluded by warning that ignoring the scandal could erode public confidence in the trust’s ability to manage sacred assets responsibly.
