Political clash over ‘Twitter‑Twitter’ games and caste hunting in UP

A heated political showdown unfolded in Lucknow on August 30 when Jaiant Chaudhary, president of the Rashtriya Lok Dal, took aim at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Chaudhary alleged that Yadav and other senior leaders are obsessed with finding caste angles in every matter, turning politics into a “Twitter‑Twitter” spectacle.

Chaudhary affirmed that the party will not allow Uttar Pradesh to turn into a “caste arena”. He labelled the PDA debate as a source of “pain and confusion” rather than constructive policy.

Quoting Chaudhary Charan Singh’s principles, Chaudhary asserted that true politics should focus on eradicating arrogance, corruption, theft, and fraud. He described these as the real ABCD of public life that should earn respect across communities.

He warned that the era of silent compliance is over, and urged the political class to stop searching for caste cues in every dispute, urging a shift toward inclusive development.

The event also featured remarks from RLD operative president Anupam Mishra, who claimed that no future government in Uttar Pradesh can be formed without the party’s support, and that the party’s influence will expand beyond western Uttar Pradesh into the central and eastern regions.
